Reducing Social Isolation

Reducing social Isolation for adults with learning disabilities through:

Social evenings & weekends

We live independently with support & would like to develop our social opportunities outside of Millies (our local disco night). We would like to organise monthly social evenings & weekend events either at our house, in Hastings or in the local community.

We would like to know if you would be interested in this opportunity. If you are interested, please e-mail us using the Contact Form.

We will need to look at how we fund Professional Support workers to be available at events, if we feel we need them. Please let us know your needs and ideas for support.

Background for Reducing Social Isolation for adults with learning disabilities. Support 4 Independent Living was set up to enable adults with learning disabilities to develop their skills and opportunities to live as ordinary a life as possible.

A group of young people with learning disabilities have identified social isolation as an issue and have expressed an interest in organising social evenings & weekends where they can get together with their friends and peers to socialise.

The group are looking to organise monthly social evenings & weekend events either at their house, in Hastings or in the local community. Professional Support workers will be available at all events.

This opportunity is free. The only cost depends on the social activity being planned e.g. a trip to a music event, cinema, transport, etc.

If you or anyone you know, would be interested in this opportunity, please contact Chrys Tel. 07811 394 236 or use out Contact Form
